Account Officer

The Account/Finance Officer will support the finance department in various tasks related to accounting, financial analysis, and reporting. This will allow the Officer to gain hands-on experience in financial data management, assisting with day-to-day operations, and learning the practical application of finance principles in a corporate setting. This role is ideal for recent graduates interested in pursuing a career in Finance or Accounting.

Responsibilities 

 Financial Data Management and Book-keeping

  • Assist in the maintenance of financial records by inputting transaction data, updating ledgers, and ensuring records are accurate and up to date. 
  • Assist with managing and organizing financial records and documents for easy retrieval. 

 Accounts Payable and Receivable Support

  • Ensure accurate and reliable records of invoice raised and payment received from the customers. 
  • Ensure accurate and reliable records of invoice received and payment paid to vendors and deduction of the tax due.   

 Budgeting and Forecasting Assistance

  • Support the finance team in preparing budgets and financial forecasts by gathering data and conducting preliminary analysis.   
  • Participate in the preparation of variance reports and understand budget deviations. 

 Financial Analysis and Reporting

  • Assist in preparing reports and generating summaries for management review.   

 Reconciliation and Bank Statements

  • Help reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial records to ensure accuracy.   
  • Identify and address discrepancies by cross-referencing documents and records. 

 Assist with Month-End and Year-End Close Procedures

  • Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes by organizing necessary documentation, supporting reconciliations, and preparing journal entries under supervision. 

 Expense Tracking and Analysis

  • Monitor departmental expenses and prepare summaries for budget tracking.   
  • Conduct initial reviews to ensure that expenses comply with company policies and flag any irregularities. 

 Ad Hoc Analysis and Projects

  • Assist with special projects, including financial analysis for specific initiatives, market research, and data analysis for senior finance leaders.   
  • Prepare presentations and reports as required, helping to communicate key findings to the finance team. 
  1. Handle other responsibilities as assigned from time to time.
