Inventory Officer

Position Overview: An Inventory Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing a company's inventory operations. This role involves tracking, monitoring, and maintaining stock levels to ensure that products and materials are available as needed while minimizing overstock and shortages. The Inventory Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the efficiency of supply chain operations and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Key Responsibilities 

1. Inventory Management: 

• Maintain accurate inventory records and update them regularly in inventory management systems. 

• Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies as necessary to prevent stockouts. 

• Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies with recorded data. 

1. Stock Control: 

• Ensure inventory is rotated using FIFO (First-In-First-Out) 

• Organize and store inventory in a systematic and easily accessible manner. 

• Ensure inventory is rotated using FIFO (First-In-First-Out) or other appropriate methods. 

• Identify and address issues such as expired, damaged, or obsolete stock. 

1. Procurement Coordination: 

• Work closely with the procurement team to place orders and ensure timely delivery of supplies. 

• Verify the accuracy of deliveries against purchase orders and invoices. 

1. Reporting and Documentation: 

• Prepare and submit inventory reports, including stock levels, usage patterns, and discrepancies. 

• Maintain records of all inventory transactions for auditing purposes. 

1. Compliance and Quality Control: 

• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations. 

• Monitor the quality of inventory and ensure proper handling and storage practices. 

1. Collaboration and Communication: 

• Coordinate with other departments, such as Procurement, Technical Service and Equipment Management department, to understand their inventory needs. 

• Provide input on inventory optimization strategies and cost-saving measures.
